We'll speak with Nicole Rogers, new Chief Building Officer (CBO) at DC Department of Buildings. Nicole will share her vision and goals and then respond to your questions and inquiries.

Nicole Rogers has been with the District government since 2011, serving the DC Department of Buildings (DOB) and their predecessor agency. By working in various agency areas, like inspections, leading permit operations, and now as the Chief Building Official (CBO). The CBO leads the Office of Construction and Building Standards, which includes construction-based inspections, third party oversight, permitting services (plan review) and illegal construction. I have a unique approach to the role with an emphasis on effective leadership, communication, and customer service. My vision is built on three primary principles, education, transparency, and consistency. Education to bridge the technical knowledge we have to achievable solutions, increase transparency to be open in receiving feedback to make improvements and keeping stakeholders informed for preparedness and success in our process, and lastly, consistency in how we deliver services.
